Visit this delightful place to see some unusual sights and get a good idea about the enormity of Lake Superior. Stop at one of the many turn-in parking areas, take off your shoes and socks and enjoy a walk barefooted on the sandy beach! Drive all the way to the western end of the point, where you will see the city of Superior further west, several immense Burlington Rail docks to the southwest and the Wisconsin Point Light. Along the way, watch for the original burial site of the Fond Du Lac band of Chippewa Native People. Though natural and undeveloped, Wisconsin Point is known for many outdoor activities, including biking, bird-watching and sea sports. Help preserve the natural and man-made beauty of this area by heeding the sign to pack out what you pack in! |
