Little Norway

Just west of Mount Horeb is Little Norway, also known as "The Valley of the Elves." This area was settled by Norwegians in 1856.  A costumed guide leads visitors on a tour of the authentically furnished log buildings and "Stavekirke", a wooden church built in Trondheim, Norway, for the 1893 Columbian Exposition.  The church features carved dragon heads at the roof peaks to chase away evil spirits.  There's also a gift shop with Norwegian rosemaled items.
