Laura Ingalls Wilder Festival

3rd weekend in September

Where:  Pepin, WI

What:  8th annual celebration of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the popular "Little House" books.  Experience life in the mid-1800s with demonstrations of blacksmithing, woodworking, iron-working, weaving, quilting and wool spinning by individuals dressed in period costume.  Stories and songs cited in Little House books are also performed and there's a Laura Ingalls look-alike contest.  Additional attractions include a raveling exhibit of Wilder's written materials, sanctioned horse-pull, Civil War encampment, children's games from the period, parade, crafts and antiques at Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Park.
