Where:  Milwaukee, WI

What:  This parade, re-creating the elaborate circus street pageants of a century ago, is the culmination of a circus history festival.  Antique circus wagons are loaded onto The Great Circus Train for the 3-day, 400-mile journey from the Circus World Museum in Baraboo to Milwaukee. Next, are 5 days of circus festival activities at Milwaukee Veterans Park, including circus performances, wagon exhibits, a wild west encampment, a grand horse fair, petting zoo, band organ concerts and more. The Great Circus Parade is the climax, featuring 2,000 costumed participants, 1,000 musicians, 700 horses, 100 clowns, 50 circus wagons, and scores of elephants and other exotic animals. This year the parade is on Sunday, July 16 in downtown Milwaukee.
