Star Party at McDonald Observatory

photos by UnCommonDays.com

Here's a party where you can see more stars than Hollywood ever hoped to have! Wear your warm clothes, hope for a clear night and join the staff of the McDonald Observatory as they present information about what you see in the skies all around you. Then join other party goers in viewing a variety of heavenly bodies through telescopes set up for this event. There is usually an opportunity to see images that are being viewed through a telescope and projected onto a TV screen - maybe even an Apollo landing site on the moon! Get there before dark to add the sunset over the TX hills to your list of uncommon activities.
