Where:  Dallas, TX

What:  You'll find Big Tex, the Cotton Bowl and all the traditional fair entertainment, contests, goods, food and frolic at the Great State Fair of Texas.  There are livestock shows, quilt, jelly and baked and canned goods shows, corny dogs and cotton candy, carnival rides and games on the Midway and the great big Texas Star Ferris wheel, museums and exhibits, fireworks, football games, daily acrobatic and musical performances on several stages . . .  demonstrations range from how to ride a horse to how to cook with the newest gadget to dogs herding sheep!  Lots of informative exhibits, friendly people and things to do!

Fees are charged for general admission and parking.  Special rates are available for seniors and kids under 48 inches tall.  Seniors are admitted free of charge some weekdays and other special admission days are scheduled.  

Look for coupons for discounts on general admission (local grocery stores, gas stations, fast food restaurants).  
On weekends, DART provides light rail and bus transportation from some stations and park-and-ride locations.  Call for more information.

Additional admission fees are charged for some museums and other attractions.
