The four granite faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, America's Shrine to Democracy, gaze over South Dakota's Black Hills. Although a large concrete parking area disrupts the otherwise awesome view, this mountain carving designed by Sculptor Gutzom Borglum, is still visible and makes a clear statement of the respect held for these men and their contribution to America. |
