Although the scientific and historical importance of this project is most
impressive, it is also a fascinating place for interested visitors.
Be grateful that the people who were planning to build a housing project
found the remains of these extraordinarily huge, now extinct Columbian
Mammoths. They also had the good sense and were generous enough to
make sure the excavation of this historical treasure was continued
and preserved exactly where it was found. A visit to this
ongoing "dig" can increase knowledge and stimulate awe in adults
while encouraging children to ask questions and explore. Picture
taking is encouraged. |
