Oklahoma City National Memorial

On April 19, 1995 in Oklahoma City, one of the worst acts of terrorism on American soil occurred with the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and the death of 168 people.  Many children were victims of this tragic event. The gates of time, framing the spot where this tragedy occurred at 9:02 a.m., the Survivor Tree, a reflecting pool, 168 chairs, remnants of the bombed building, "the fence" where so many memorials are left by families and friends of the victims as well as visitors who come to pay respect and a children's area, signify the magnitude of the tragedy and the impact and the horror sustained. The Oklahoma City National Memorial was dedicated on April 19, 2000, the 5th anniversary of this horrible act of terrorism.
