Ice Day

A day in mid-January

Ice Day, cutting the ice

photos by UnCommonDays.com

Where:  Muster Field Farm Museum, North Sutton, NH

What:  Participating in Ice Day will surely educate or remind you of the hard work and simple pleasures of a recently passed era. Cutting, loading, transporting, unloading, stacking and covering the ice with sawdust in January ensures having it in August, and later! Can you believe that ice used to be cut and shipped all over the world from New Hampshire lakes?
During the day, take advantage of the wonderful heat and food provided in the School House which was built in 1810. Bring your cross-country skis, hitch a ride on the sleigh and get to know the friendly people who gather at this event. Great fun for the whole family.

Phone:  603-927-4276
Call to be sure ice is hard enough before making a long trip.

Admission:  Free (Just bring some money for the great food and drinks.)

Directions:  Exit 10 off I-89
