Cape Elizabeth Light, still called Two Lights, originally had two towers which guided mariners into the south entrance of Portland Harbor, the state's largest port. Now the towers are in an exclusive neighborhood but can be seen by visiting Two Lights State Park. The unusual, flat rock formations invite visitors to sit and watch traffic of various kinds and sizes of ships making their way through Casco Bay. Wrap up warmly and visit this spot in the fall, winter or early spring if solitude is your preference. |
