Nubble Light, located on its own Island close to the coast of Cape Neddick in York, ME, attracts thousands of visitors a year - most of them holding cameras! It is a short distance from US Rt. 1A and worth the stop - with or without a camera. Ponder the life of lighthouse keepers and their families who manned this lighthouse from the time its light was first illuminated in 1879 until it was automated in 1987. Also ponder where the word "nubble" came from. |
