A lovely little town where there are many pristine historic houses with ceiling fans on the front porch and lovely old mansions that hold the architecture, stories, and, some claim, the ghosts of the past. John James Audubon found something attractive about the town and so do many visitors every year. If you chose to cross the Mississippi on the ferry to or from New Roads, you might wait just long enough to stretch and maybe buy a praline or pecan pie from a local resident. |
