The City that Henry Ford Built:
Richmond Hill

photos by BR Casey

On the site of the former Richmond Plantation, Henry and Clara Ford built a winter home in 1925. He enlarged his land holdings here and built houses for his employees along with schools and other community buildings. The town was also home to the laboratories where the Edison Botanic Society (formed by Mr. Ford, Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone) conducted  important experiments.
