A modern outdoor outfitters store with high tech gear and gadgets, books, and the necessary T-shirts . . . all in a rustic setting. Not only can hikers on the Appalachian Trail find supplies, showers, mail and a place to wash clothes, they can also have their picture taken and "sign in" as they pause at this hospitable stop. Day hikers or other visitors can enjoy the beauty of the spot and the history it preserves and maybe even say hello to a thru-hiker as they pass through the only covered spot on the trail.
