What: Rumor has it that this "original" event was started sometime in the 80's by a blacksmith, plumber and well driller who had been throwing anvils! This gathering of folks who like to see how far various machines can launch a single punkin' makes for quite a tailgate party. Entries in the contest (all non-explosive) include catapults, machines that use centrifugal force, cannons, and other human-powered gadgets. There are 2 categories for the ingenious entries of kids and youth. Bragging rights go to the one who launched a punkin' more than 4,000 ft! AMAZING! This you must see for yourself.
