Whitfield House

This house is believed to be the oldest in CT and New England's oldest stone house.  It was built in 1639 as a residence for the Reverend Henry Whitfield, a founder and the first minister of Guilford.  Visitors can enjoy landscaped grounds and an herb garden and go inside to view furnishings, equipment and what is claimed to be the first tower clock made in the colonies (1726).

Usually open year-round Wed-Sun.  Admission fee is charged although schools may arrange free tours by reservation.  Call for current information, fees and group rates.
