The uncommon attributes of Will Rogers are many. He was Cherokee, born on
Election Day, 1879, in Indian Territory and died in Alaskan Territory, in
1935. His many talents and beguiling wit took him all over the world and
into many people's hearts as a performer, author and ambassador of
goodwill.
This memorial and family burial site accomplishes the daunting task of helping the visitor understand a little of what he meant when he said "If you live life right, death is a joke as far as fear is concerned". The manner in which his life and death are presented provide an experience that is both enjoyable and enriching. Most appreciated by weary travelers are the opportunities to sit, watch entertaining movies and visit restrooms conveniently placed throughout the many rooms of the museum. Be sure to include a visit to the nearby birthplace of Will Rogers, Dog Iron Ranch. |
